Catholic Schools Day

It was Catholic Schools Day on Monday. Our school celebrated by being involved in many interesting activities. We started with a Mass in the morning. After play classes were involved with art and craft activities. After lunch many whanau went out for tabloid sports. We finished the day by receiving yummy lemonade ice blocks!!

Innovation Immersion

Our concept this term is Innovation. For our immersion activity, Mr Werder organised a 1963  Morris Minor for the children to look at and a fully electric car from the Northern Regional Council. Mrs Holt was here to tell the children all about the technology of an electric car.

ANZAC Liturgy

We held an ANZAC liturgy on the last day of Term 1. Father Chris blessed the crosses which were arranged in our place of remembrance. Each cross has a name of someone from Whangarei district who have fought and died for their country. We then sang the national anthem while we raise our flag.

Otangarei Festival

Our kapa haka group were invited to perform at the Otangarei Kapa Haka festival in April. It was a great experience. Our school kapa haka sang beautifully and we were complimented by the crowd.

Bicycle Track Opening

Mr Hacker has worked hard alongside Mr Bell to ensure that our bicycle track is established and maintained. Mr Hacker and his son lead our Whanau Leaders, Deputies and important guests around the bike track as part of our opening ceremony.
