We also got to see the Ngapuhi waka Ngatokimatawhaorua. It was made from two kauri trees and took approx a year and a half to build. We had fun pretending to be paddlers.
We were also fortunate enough to be part of a powhiri while we were at Waitangi. We saw a wero (challenge) and a cultural performance.
